How to choose a white that does not turn yellow
Whites shift with the light and the colours around them. Here is how to test before you commit.

Test on the wall, not the card
A small chip lies. Paint a sample at least two feet square and look at it at morning, noon and evening. North light makes whites cooler; south light warms them.
Look at the undertone
Every white leans a little: blue, grey, yellow or pink. Hold the chip against a sheet of printer paper and the undertone shows.
Match the whites in the room
Trim, ceiling and walls do not have to be the same white, but they should share an undertone. Mixed undertones are what make a room look dingy.
